🔌 Connect Instagram
To avoid a failed connection or error when integrating Instagram to a Client, the Instagram account must have the following:
The Instagram account is a professional account
The Instagram account is connected to a Facebook page (for direct access to the page).
Ensure Admin-level permissions are granted for both the Instagram account and the associated Facebook Page
To avoid connection conflicts, we recommend logging out of all other Instagram accounts in your browser.
If the above requirements are met, follow these steps to connect:
Open the Client where you'd like to connect Instagram, then click the Data Sources tab at the top.
Click the Connect Data Source button in the upper right corner of the page.
Search for Instagram in the search bar at the top, then click the Instagram card.
Click Connect New Account, or if you've previously connected to Instagram, click the Connect New Account button below the connections list.
In the pop-up, sign into the associated Facebook account and accept any authorization or permissions prompts to connect.
After signing in, click Edit Settings in the Facebook popup to select all relevant Pages and enable permissions.
Click Done, then OK to finalize the Facebook authorization.
Next, select the account you want to connect with this client and click Connect on the lower left.
The integration will then be complete, and your client's Instagram metrics will be pulled in, allowing you to start building custom reports or dashboards!
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Instagram Account Not Appearing
Verify the Instagram account is professional and linked to a Facebook Page
Reauthorize permissions by starting a fresh connection and selecting all relevant Pages in the Facebook popup
Wrong Profile Appears
Use the Connect New Account option instead of cached sessions
Log out of other Facebook accounts or use an incognito window
Account Connected but Not Appearing in Reports
Remove the account and reconnect it as a new account to refresh the authentication token
Steps to connect Instagram to a Facebook page
To connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page, ensure the Instagram account is linked in Facebook Business Manager. If issues persist, reauthorize permissions in the Facebook popup and select all relevant Pages.
