Add Livestock with Live Sessions

Induct individual animals onto your farm crush or chute side

You can use a Live Session for the induction of your animals into AgriWebb. Useful for when stock arrive on farm, at birth or during marking. For a full guide to live sessions check out Live Session Records.

Mobile App

Tap on the Livestock tab.

Tap Start Live Session to create a new session, and choose your species.

Choose from Quick Records or Templates

To scan new individual animals onto your farm either:

  • Select Add Animals from the quick records options.  

  • Select Templates, and choose a template that contains an Add Animals step. 


Setting up your live session: 

Default Animal Details

Select the age class of the individuals you are inducting

Fill in their default details for Date of Birth, Breed, and Tagging information.

*Note: For immature animals such as Ewe lamb or Heifer calf, they must be a month and year as a minimum. For mature animals, you may select only a year as Date of Birth Accuracy or "Do no track".

Tag setup

Choose the tag type(s) you want to use.

If entering a visual ID, choose the input method

  • Manual Entry: Manually enter the visual ID for each animal with an optional shared prefix.

  • Sequential Tags: Specify a starting tag and assign visual IDs starting from that tag.

Assigning EID Tags

If you want to assign EID tags to your animals, you can do this by bulk upload before the live session using our 'Import Animal Updates' feature on the web app, or you can assign the EID in a live session. Just scan the EID tag and then it will prompt you to create a new animal or assign to an existing animal.


Hardware

Connect your EID stick readers as explained in Live Session Records
and select Start Session.


During the session:

Scan your animals and they will be created with the default animal details and the tag scanned.

If you need to override the shared details for a particular animal you can select Full Profile in the top right of the screen and change the animal details.

If an animal can't be scanned because it has a broken tag you can select More actions and Select next animal manually to create an animal without an EID tag.

To replace the tag for this individual, choose Ad hoc record > Replace tag to replace its broken tag.

Finish the session

To finish the session tap Finish in the top left corner to see a summary of your session.
