Q: How does document ownership work for documents created on ChatGPT?

When you create a document with ChatGPT, the document ownership is tied to your account on aidocmaker.com and not your ChatGPT account.

By default, you will be using an anonymous account on aidocmaker.com, unless you sign up for an account and log in on aidocmaker.com. So that means documents created with ChatGPT when you are not logged in on aidocmaker.com will get assigned to an anonymous account. If you are logged in with your account on aidocmaker.com, then documents created with ChatGPT will get assigned to your aidocmaker.com account.

If you are using ChatGPT across multiple browsers or devices, we highly recommend you create an account on aidocmaker.com and log in with that account on all browsers / devices to ensure you can access your documents everywhere.

Q: How to enable public access on a document?

Documents are set to private by default, which means only the document owner can view and edit the document. When you create a document with ChatGPT, the document ownership is tied to your account on aidocmaker.com and not your ChatGPT account.

If you prompt ChatGPT to read a document set to private, you will likely encounter an error. Similarly, if you try to access a document set to private from a device or browser where you are not logged in on aidocmaker.com, you will also run into an error.

To enable public access so that anyone with link (including ChatGPT) can view the document, log into your account on aidocmaker.com, go to the document, click on the "Details" tab, and then enable the toggle for "Anyone with link can view (including ChatGPT)" to enable public access.

Note: most of the time, issues with accessing documents created in ChatGPT is due to not being logged in on aidocmaker.com. We recommend you double check you are logged in on aidocmaker.com on all browsers / devices where you are using ChatGPT to create documents.

Q: How do I upload my own PowerPoint template?

Q: I am seeing document creation errors on ChatGPT, what can I do?

ChatGPT is a powerful AI tool, but sometimes it will have trouble following user instructions or creating new documents due to technical constraints and issues. In some cases, you might see ChatGPT complaining it cannot make an API request, outputting strangely formatted text, or simply hallucinate a response.

In such cases, you can try to fix this issue by:

  1. Refreshing browser: This can help to remove any temporary browser data that might be causing problems with ChatGPT.

  2. Starting a new chat: Starting a new chat will often times fix a lot of issues, because it allows ChatGPT to start a new conversation from a clean slate.

  3. Provide more context: providing more context tends to help ChatGPT from having to guess your intent, and this will generally result in higher quality documents.

Q: How to fix "No permission to view document" or other related errors?

This error usually pops up when you are attempting to access a document that belongs to another account on aidocmaker.com. If you are the document owner, you might see this error when you try to access your document from a different browser or device where you are not logged in with your account on aidocmaker.com.

In such cases, you can fix this issue by either logging in on aidocmaker.com from your browser / device, or enable public access on the document so that anyone with a link can view the document.

If this doesn't work, you can try re-creating the document in ChatGPT and accessing it again, which might resolve the permission issues. You can also try logging out on aidocmaker.com and then logging in again, which will sometimes help to reset account permissions issues too.

Q: Are the documents I create using ChatGPT accessible from multiple devices (e.g. computers / tablets)?

Yes, the documents you create using our GPTs / Plugins on ChatGPT are accessible from multiple devices. When you open the document link from ChatGPT, our systems will automatically store that document in our cloud storage under your aidocmaker.com account for a period of 30 days.

In order to prevent access issues, please ensure you are logged in on aidocmaker.com with the correct email for each device where you are creating documents with ChatGPT.

Q: What should I do if I'm experiencing issues downloading a file, such as the download being flagged as unsafe?
