Why are card payments in-store only?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

We accept card payments in-store only and don’t offer card payments over the phone or online.

Card payment systems are designed primarily for retail purchases (such as everyday consumer goods), where pricing is fixed and dispute risk is low. Bullion purchases are different — prices move continuously, values are time-sensitive, and transactions are often higher-value.

As such, card-not-present payments carry:

  • Higher chargeback and fraud risk, which can result in irreversible losses

  • Significantly higher processing fees, which materially reduce margin and would ultimately be passed on through pricing

  • Compliance and verification limitations, as we’re unable to reliably confirm a customer’s identity without them being present

By limiting card payments to in-store transactions, we can verify the cardholder, reduce fraud risk, keep costs lower, and apply the same rules consistently to all customers.
