Testing is performed using a PMV (Precious Metal Verifier), a specialised instrument that uses electromagnetic technology to analyse the metal composition beneath the surface. The wand is placed firmly against a flat face of the bullion, and the device returns a reading confirming the metal type and purity. To ensure accuracy, multiple sides of the each item are tested, as readings can vary depending on surface condition, thickness, or any irregularities in the piece.
