Customize your HubSpot sidebar to show the Aira card

Aira's own walkthrough of HubSpot's record-sidebar customization, focused on adding the Aira card.

HubSpot lets each team and each user customise what appears in the right sidebar of a record. This article walks through the customisation steps that matter when you're adding the Aira card.

Why sidebar customisation exists in HubSpot

HubSpot organises records by object type: Company, Contact, Deal, Ticket. Each object type has its own record layout, and the right sidebar is a configurable list of cards. Cards can show CRM properties, activity history, or third-party integrations like Aira.

You customise sidebar layouts so reps see the right information without hunting through tabs.

Open a company record

Inside HubSpot, navigate to your CRM and open any company. The Aira card will eventually live on every company record once you've added it once.

Actions β†’ Customize the right sidebar

In the right sidebar, click Actions at the top. Choose Customize the right sidebar.

(If Actions isn't visible, look for a pencil or three-dot icon near the sidebar header. The control's location varies by HubSpot UI version.)

You need permission to edit record layouts. If the option is missing, ask a HubSpot admin in your organization to either grant you that permission or to install the card for everyone.

Find Aira in the available cards

The customisation screen lists every card you can add. Use the search to find Aira. Click to add it to the layout. Drag it to the position you want. Most members put Aira near the top of the sidebar.

Save and confirm

Click Save. HubSpot returns you to the company record. The Aira card should appear in the sidebar; if it doesn't render immediately, refresh the page.

Does the layout apply to all teammates?

Two cases in HubSpot:

  • Personal layout: only you see the customised sidebar.

  • Default layout for the team: every teammate sees it.

By default, customisations are personal. To make the Aira card visible to everyone in your HubSpot organization, ask a HubSpot admin to set the layout as the default. See HubSpot's permission settings for layout administration.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see the customise option. You don't have permission. Ask a HubSpot admin.

  • Aira isn't in the list. The HubSpot integration in Aira isn't connected yet, or it just connected and HubSpot's app cache hasn't refreshed. Wait a minute, refresh HubSpot, and check again.

  • The Aira card is empty. The company record in HubSpot has a name or domain that Aira's company database doesn't have a match for. Open the company in Aira to confirm the match.
