An invoice is the official document proving the amount of tax paid to the government on each transaction. In order to refund VAT to you, we need to reclaim the same amount from the tax authority, which is why the invoices must be issued in Airvat’s name.

Such an arrangement is part of our operating model approved by the authorities that granted us the licence:

  • Airvat is an approved tax refund operator as per licence number FR-017-AOD, dated 27/10/2022, from the Directorate-General of Customs and Indirect Taxes of the French Republic (DGDDI).

  • Airvat is an approved operator of FPS Finance’s DETAX application under the agreement ref. ET.137.560/18 pursuant to article 39, § 1er, 4°, of the Belgian VAT code.

  • Airvat is operating in accordance with the VAT notice 407, Retail Export Scheme for Northern Ireland, issued by HM Revenue and Customs of the UK Government (HMRC).
