How do I close my account?

If you're thinking about leaving, we'd be very sorry to see you go. If you're having any problems with your account or are unhappy with our service, please do get in touch with our team on 0345 543 2600 – we’ll do everything we can to help.

But if your mind's made up, just let us know. You can close an ISA or Dealing account by visiting our account closure page. To close any other AJ Bell accounts, you'll need to contact our customer services team on 0345 543 8329 or at help@ajbell.co.uk.

Before you request to close an account, be sure to sell any investments you hold, and ensure your contact and bank details are up to date.

If you're within the first 30 days of opening your account, you can cancel it instead by getting in touch with us in one of the above ways. You can only cancel a SIPP within its first 30 days if you haven't made any investments in it.

For an account you close within the first month, we’ll apply our custody charges pro rata from the beginning of the month to the date on which you ask us to close your account.
