What is SMTP?
SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, which is the standard set of rules used to send and relay emails across the internet
SMTP Setup for Google
Google has set a new security protocol for apps.
Google will ask you to verify your login.
You will be redirected to the App passwords page.
If you are not routed to the App passwords page, go to your Google Account page and click Security.
Make sure 2-Step verification is turned ON, and follow the instructions.
Once done, click on Passkeys and Security keys.
Click on Create Passkey, and proceed as instructed
4. Enter the App name AK DASH and click Create.
5. A generic password will be generated.
6. Copy and paste the password, save it somewhere, and label it in case you need to re-enter the password in Google.
7. Go back to the AK DASH Company Profile section, re-enter your user email, app passcode, and 'From Email', and save.
Note: Make sure your username and From Email are the same.
8. Once saved, the current SMTP connection status should show "Connected".
Once connected, you can now send pavement assessments and proposals directly from your AK DASH. The 'From email' should reflect the emails sent to your company email instead of 'noreply@akdash.com'.
