What is expected for Albertans provided with access to Thrive?

  • Reporting on your success

    • It is important that you provide timely updates to the Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services on your employment status.

    • If you receive income support, please update the Ministry of your employment status change using the contact information listed below.

    • Through Thrive, you will be provided with the opportunity to:

      1. Proactively share your new role in the online chat

      2. Share your new employment opportunity in a Thrive survey or in-app pop-up at key milestones of your employment journey.

    • You will maintain full access to Thrive for 12 months, regardless of changes in your employment status.

    • Albertans receiving income support will be required to demonstrate ongoing progress on the Thrive activities outlined in their Action Plan. The Ministry may monitor progress on the platform to ensure obligations are met.

  • Helping us improve this service

    • Your feedback is important! The Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services is piloting new digital employment services programs for Albertans. Your comments will help us improve your experience and determine the ability of this program to support Albertans like you in finding their next role.

    • You will be asked to respond to prompts on the platform and complete feedback surveys emailed to you via Thrive.

  • Why was I offered access to Thrive?

    • The Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services provides an array of Career and Employment Information Services to support Albertans in finding and maintaining work. These services are delivered by Government of Alberta Authorized Officials and/or service providers.

    • The Thrive Career Wellness Platform is a digital employment services platform funded as part of Pilot program by the Alberta government. It provides on-demand, self-directed employment services, enabling Albertans to work towards employment on a schedule most convenient to them.

    • As a result of your recent Employment Readiness Assessment, you were deemed eligible for a 12-month access to Thrive. Thrive has helped thousands of people attain employment for almost a decade and can help you find a fulfilling opportunity!

  • How can I make the most of my Thrive licence?

    • There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach for a person’s employment journey. Thrive is designed to let you be in charge of completing virtual activities that best suit your needs.

    • To get the most out of the features Thrive has to offer, we recommend you log on the platform regularly, book an onboarding meeting with the Thrive coordinator team within the first week of your licence activation, and familiarize yourself with the initial package of services provided to you within the first month:

      1. A Resume Review by a Career Coach

      2. A Career Path Explorer Coaching Session

      3. The Learning Centre with readily available foundational job readiness courses

      4. Access to LinkedIn Learning Courses for 3 months

  • Why is Thrive considered a government “Pilot Program”?

    • The Alberta Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services is modernizing the way employment services are delivered to be more responsive to the needs and preferences of Albertans.

    • As a part of this modernization effort, the government is piloting the use of the Thrive Career Wellness digital employment services platform with a select number of Albertans. Thrive is a global leader in digital employment services selected through a competitive process for its performance, digital experience, and effective tools.

    • As a result of this being a ‘pilot’ there may be impacts to your experience on the platform. For example, you may notice the repetition of certain questions asked as part of your Thrive onboarding and the Employment Readiness Assessment you completed with the Ministry.

    • Your feedback is important! As we assess the Thrive digital employment services, your comments will help us improve your experience and determine the ability of this program to support Albertans like you in finding their next role.
