What is SkillsID?

Understand the function of the SkillsID tool, and how to add your skills into the platform

Updated this week

By adding your skills and abilities into the SkillsID tool, you can explore a variety of career paths that are tailored to your unique skills in Career Path Explorer.

To start, click SkillsID on the left side menu:

There are a few ways to add in your skills:

1. Search and Add Skills

  • Manually search for skills to add to the platform. There are over 30,000 skills to select from. Simply start typing and choose options from the drop-down list.

2. Quickly Build SkillsID

  • Quickly build a SkillsID by using your resume. 'Select a Saved Resume' that you have in our Resumes tool or 'Upload a New Resume'.

  • Note: If you upload a resume, only PDF, DOC and DOCx files are allowed.

3. Add Skills While Exploring Career Paths

You can now add skills to your profile while browsing careers in the Career Path Explorer.

As you explore different career paths, you’ll see a “+” icon next to each skill. Simply click it to add the skill to your profile (SkillsID) instantly. Your skill gap analysis updates in real time and carries across every career you explore.

Here’s how it works:

  • Navigate to the Career Path Explorer from your dashboard

  • Enter the role and location of your choice

  • See a skill you have? Tap the “+” icon to add it to your profile (SkillsID)

  • Your skill gap analysis updates in real time as you add skills

The more skills you add, the more accurate your matches and recommendations become!

Once you add your skills or upload your resume, they will be listed under My Skills.

Click 'Explore Careers' to view recommended job titles and learning options in Career Path Explorer.
