What are board meeting best practices?

  1. Never have surprises - good or bad. 

  2. Always do the presentation to major participants before so they share the feedback of what could be improved, and again for them there will be no surprises.

Here's an article on this topic as well.  However, it may be best to do meetings in the morning when everyone is fresh, and to end the meeting by having lunch brought into the room.
