More than any of these benefits is to be explicit and generous about maternity flexibility. In the USA, 6 weeks is the required minimum. It is pretty standard in Corporate America to offer paid maternity for 6 weeks and promise to hold the job open for a max of 3 months. Although this is the standard, we've seen that if you are more generous and provide more flexibility with the terms, your workforce may be more loyal, less mercenary, and more missionary. You will have less turnover and many employees will gladly trade stability and flexibility for remuneration.
