Charge them all the time. If they don’t pay, they don’t value it. If they pay, they are investing and are encouraged to use the product. You can allow them to test the software for free, and then sell. Or give them a short trial period, then set up a check in meeting where they start to pay from then on.
We have a customer who is piloting our product. Should we charge them?
