How have others dealt with security concerns from the IT team? we have sufficient options and suggestions (3rd party audits, on premise installation, etc) but the guy from IT said we aren't big enough of a company to trust their data to us

What type of data is it, and do you need it? We one-way hash all of our customers data so even if it were leaked it would be meaningless to anyone else.
