Having been with ADL for 25 years I have always been around the ADL parts and service manuals and have seen how much work and effort goes into creating them by a fantastic team.
But I always wondered if we could make it a digital system and something to make customer needs just that bit simpler...We have a fantastic team of people within AD24 so hello COVID, hello challenge! I mean how hard can it be...
These are just some of the challenges I set the team
Online and integrated into all our systems
Work in any language
Customer pricing, stock checks
Search by reg, chassis, fleet number, WPO and body number
Body, Chassis Manuals, Drivers Guides, Vehicle Checks
Show changes in manuals, supersessions, exploded drawings, and technical information.
Work for new manuals and also the ability to load old PDF manuals
Live chat, analytics, FAQ, alternative parts
Make it look like the manuals do today but with a modern twist
Be dead easy to use (I'm not that clever!)
Oh and PDF for printing (forgot about that one initially)
I think this covered most of it! Well as it turned out not at all what a team and technical challenge this was! But the team created something amazing and totally new for the bus and coach industry.
So if you got this far I guess you are thinking when will we see it...Well, today!
