The diagnostics screen

After entering the online room from the learning platform, you will be taken to the diagnostics screen, where you can check the camera and microphone before connecting to the class.


You can select microphone and camera devices if you have multiple devices on your PC.


Before connecting to the lesson, you can also disable or enable the microphone and the camera. To do this, please click the left mouse button on the device icon.


To make sure that your microphone is working, please say something and check if that the slider on the diagnostics screen responds to the sound.


When you are ready, click on the "Start lesson" button.


Online class interface for the teacher

  • 📌 Please note that room moderator rights can be granted only to the LMS user who has the "Teacher" role.

  • As a teacher, you can disable the microphone and camera for all conference participants. Only the students themselves can turn it on again.

  • By clicking on the grid button, you can change the conference participants' screens display.

  • When you click on the" ❓Help" button, you will be redirected to the Knowledge Base page with answers to frequently asked questions about the online room.

  • By clicking on the "⚙️Open settings" button, you can check the sound and change the device for camera and microphone.

  • To open a chat, click on the 💬 chat icon in the lower menu bar of the online room.

  • For the teacher the function of deleting messages in the chat is available in the online room:

  • If you need to kick a student from the conference, use the "Kick" button.

  • In this case, the student will see the following notification:


Screen sharing for the teacher

  • To start screen sharing, click on the monitor icon on the lower menu bar:


After clicking 💻, you will be able to choose which area you would like to share.

  • To share the entire screen, click on the displayed area and click "Share".
    If you want the audio played on your PC to be heard by all students, check the box for "Share audio".

  • To share the window of a particular program (Browser, Olga Vs Code, Roblox, etc.), select the "Application Window" tab, select the screen of the desired program and click "Share".

  • To share a separate browser tab, select "Chrome Tab", then select the necessary tab and click "Share".

  • All students are able to see the teacher's sharing on the main screen by default, unless you allowed all conference participants to share a student's broadcast.


Screen sharing for the student

  • When a student starts to share the screen, all participants except for users who logged in to the conference from the LMS (Backoffice), can see only a thumbnail of their demonstration, but cannot display it for themselves on the main screen.

For all students, the teacher screen is pinned to the main screen by default.

  • You can display a shared screen of a student on the main screen using the "Share for me" button, and also show the broadcast of any student on the main screen for all the conference participants using the "Show everyone" button.

  • To remove a student's broadcast that you have expanded for yourself from your home screen, use the "Close" function, in our interface it is the button "X".

  • To hide the student's screen broadcast from the other students again, click "Hide".


Interface for the student

The interface of the student online room looks the same as for the teacher, but they can not use the functions what are only available to the moderators (the users who entered the conference from the LMS (Back office).

The following features are not available to the student:

  • Mute audio and video for all participants.

  • Pinning your own sharing, or another student's sharing, to everyone on the main screen.

  • Remove the other participants from the conference.

  • Move between sharing of other participants.

  • Delete messages in the online chat room.


  • If the student wants to ask a question, they can use the "✋Hand up" function.

  • In this case, the teacher will see a yellow border around the student's thumbnail, as well as the notification in the lower-left corner of the screen. Hand up is also accompanied by a sound signal for the teacher.

  • The frame will disappear when the student presses ✋ again.

  • To leave the conference, you can use the "Leave from room" button or simply close the tab with the video room.


FAQ

  • Can I teach an online class from two PCs?
    Yes, you can connect from two different computers or two different browser windows. For example, to enable screen sharing on one side and see students and their screens on the other.
    To select the screen for pinning on the home screen, use the "Show everyone" function.

  • Can I show my video and share my screen at the same time?
    Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet, it's going to be released in the new upcoming versions of the video platform.

  • Can multiple LMS (Backoffice) users connect to an online room at the same time?
    Yes, it is possible. However, moderator rights will be only available to users who have the "Teacher" role.

  • Can I delete another employee's account from the room if it freezes?
    At the moment, the function of deleting moderators is not provided by the moderators. Suspended accounts disappear from the online conference after a few minutes.

  • Can I connect to the video room from my phone or tablet?
    Connecting to the conference from phones and tablets is blocked because it is unstable, and this connection does not allow the student to fully participate in the lesson.

  • Can I send a private message to a student?
    Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet, but it will be added soon.
