Issue
Lia builds a popup with a plain design instead of using your store's branding. Your logo, colors, fonts, or photography are missing.
Environment
Lia, when she builds popups from your store's branding.
Stores that use bot protection, such as Cloudflare or another firewall or security provider.
Resolution
To let Lia through, add a rule to your bot protection that allows requests whose user agent contains AliaBot. A user agent is the name a browser or bot sends to identify itself.
Allow Lia in Cloudflare
From your Cloudflare dashboard:
Select your store's domain.
Go to Security → WAF → Custom rules.
Select Create rule.
Enter a rule name, such as
Allow AliaBot.Select Edit expression.
Enter the following expression.
http.user_agent contains "AliaBot"
Under Choose action, select Skip.
Select the bot protection and managed rules you want Lia to bypass.
Select Deploy.
Ask Lia to try again.
Allow Lia with another provider
Other providers offer the same setting under a different name, such as an allowlist (sometimes called a whitelist), a bypass rule, or a good-bot exception.
In your provider's dashboard, create an allowlist or bypass rule.
Set the rule to allow requests whose user agent contains
AliaBot.Save or deploy the rule.
Ask Lia to try again.
Cause
Lia reads a few public pages of your store to pick up your logo, colors, fonts, and photography. These include your home page, a product page, a collection page, and your about page. She reads them with a real browser, the same way a visitor would. If your site uses bot protection, it may show her a security check instead of your page. When that happens, she has nothing to work from and falls back to a plain design.
