The Alia MCP lets you connect ChatGPT directly to your analytics data and ask questions in plain language, no dashboard required. You have access to:
Signups and opt-ins across email and SMS
Popup views, engagement, click-through, and poll answers
Attributed revenue, AOV, LTV, margin, and repurchase rate
Site-wide sales and conversion
You can query any date range, as a total or a trend line, and break it down by country, city, device, browser, UTM source, landing page, Shopify market, or a specific campaign or popup. So you can ask something like "did last month's quiz popup actually lift revenue, or just signups?" and keep going from there: which markets, which traffic sources, what shoppers said in the poll. ChatGPT does the pulling and the math, you stay in the conversation.
It's read-only and only sees the stores you already have access to. It can answer anything about your data but can't change it.
Before You Start
Before connecting Alia to ChatGPT, make sure you've set up your separate Alia Web App login and account.
To do this, simply log in to Shopify, open the Alia app, hover over the dropdown menu in the top right on your store name, and click "Try the Alia app."
Follow all the relevant steps afterward to create your account.
How To Connect Alia to ChatGPT
1. In ChatGPT, click Settings in the bottom left corner.
2. Select the Security & Login tab and enable Developer Mode. This unlocks custom connectors. Only connect to sources you trust, and use the URL provided below.
3. Click the + icon next to the message bar, then choose Add custom connector.
4. Enter Alia as the connector name.
5. Enter https://backend.alia-prod.com/mcp/v2 as the connection URL.
6. Click "I understand," then click Create. This takes a minute while ChatGPT connects to the server and registers the MCP.
7. You'll be redirected to sign in to Alia and authorize access. If you're already signed in to the Alia app, this step is skipped automatically.
8.In any chat, click the + icon and type "Alia" to find and enable the connector.
Note: Alia isn't yet listed on ChatGPT's official plugins page, so it won't show up in a general plugin search until that listing is live. Adding it as a custom connector is the way to connect it today.
You're set. Try asking something like:
"Give me the performance for [Brand] for the past week by campaign."
ChatGPT will pull the data and walk you through it, and you can keep asking follow-up questions from there.
