Tracking Portfolio Performance

Learn how to monitor and interpret your portfolio performance data and make adjustments.

Updated over 2 months ago

From the home dashboard in Allio, select Invest from the navigation menu that runs horizontally along the bottom of your screen. This will take you to the Portfolios section of Allio where you can see how your portfolios are performing.

Overview

Right up top, you'll see a prominent chart on this screen which shows the total value of your combined Allio portfolios and how that value breaks down among the different portfolios.

Individual Portfolios

You can also monitor the performance of your individual portfolios as well as the:

  • Risk level of each portfolio

  • Most recent data refresh

  • High-water-mark of the portfolio

  • All-time percentage performance

  • Current recurring deposit amount

To get a more detailed view, you can select Details for one of the portfolios and get a well rounded view of how it’s performing.

Once you drill down to take a closer look at one of your portfolios, you’ll have three tabs along the top of the screen: Allocations, Performance, and Projections.

Allocations

Your allocations are how you’ve split up your total investment between the assets in a particular portfolio. In this example, the managed portfolio has seven different assets: U.S. and International Equities; Commodities; Fixed-Income; Real Estate; Short-Term Investments; Currency; and cash.

You can see how they’ve performed and the expected vs actual return. You’re also provided with the Expense; Sharpe; and Sortino Ratios to give you even more insight into how your selected portfolio is performing.

By tapping the downward carrot on each asset class, you can then see details of each position, including the current performance and specific allocation of funds.

ETF Performance

The performance of each individual ETF or stock can be seen by tapping the View Performance link. This will lead you to the individual assets home page which gives:

  • a summary of the asset

  • its price over a range of timeframes

  • the current bid/ask for that position

  • access to its Trading View chart

  • data for Key Metrics

  • recent news about the asset

Performance

The Performance tab shows your latest portfolio balance; principal invested; current returns; expected dividends; and a visual overview of your portfolio’s performance.

From this view, you can:

  • edit your contributions

  • make a one-time deposit

  • see news related to your current positions

Projections

The Projections tab displays your potential returns based on consistent contributions to your account until retirement, using Allio’s projection models. To get the most accurate estimate, you can update your retirement age and the amount you contribute in this view by tapping the pencil icons next to these variables.
