Spending Categories and Transactions

Understand how expenses are categorized, view transaction details, and manage your spending data

Updated this week

What spending categories are available and what do the percentages mean?

After opting in for spending transactions through the Allio app, your transactions are automatically sorted into categories with percentage breakdowns showing how much of your total spending each represents. Here's an example:

  • Bills (35%): Utilities, mortgage, insurance, and other regular payments

  • Grocery (20%): Food shopping and household essentials

  • Other (13%): Miscellaneous expenses that don't fit other categories

  • Fuel (9%): Gas stations and fuel purchases

  • Dining (6%): Restaurants, takeout, and food delivery

  • Shopping (5%): Retail purchases and general shopping

  • Entertainment (4%): Movies, streaming, activities, and leisure

  • Travel (3%): Hotels, flights, and travel-related expenses

  • Invest & Save (2%): Investment contributions and savings transfers

  • Subscriptions (1%): Recurring service payments

The percentages help you quickly identify your largest spending areas.

Why don't I see all my transactions?

Make sure all your tracking accounts are connected and syncing properly. Some transactions may take 1-2 business days to appear, and pending transactions might not show until they're fully processed.
