Introduction

If you are starting paving your path toward knowing and implementing IoT for some of your personal projects, platform that will represent data ingested from sensors is more than needed element. Therefore, our platform is a way to go, since it is free, easy to use, covers notifications due to set thresholds and more!

Setting up the Environment

Connecting your smartphone to our Platform is completely covered in this Article. Therefore, go and read it, it's a fruitful quest that will show you the most convenient capabilities you can get from our Platform and probably the ones you are looking for. Also, to cover that you're sending data from smartphone continuously this would also be a convenient read. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After you have read these articles, you will be quite ready to explore the platform even more. So, let's get going!ย

Playground data

When you successfully connect your smartphone and having it's browser opened with AllThingsTalkMaker screen (first picture above), you'll be sending these parameters to the Playground (i.e. the place where you have your data represented in numbers / strings / etc.):

Create a Pinboard

From Playground you can create a Pinboard (visually rich dashboard) and create different widget-alike pins of your data, such as graphs, battery status, circle progress and more.ย

To do so, click on the "+ CREATE PINBOARD" button on the top right corner. Then, make sure that you have all the boxes checked. It will enable you to see data on the smartphone application as well, since it represents data from the created Pinboards.

Pinboard Management

After you've scanned the QR code or entered the provided URL into smartphone's web browser, you will have your data on the Platform. Next to it, when you direct data to the Pinboard (explained in the previous step), you'll be able to see each sensor's parameter (Asset) in quite user friendly environment! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

You will surely want to try different types of pins and to see how they work. Please go forward and change the type of pins, their size, details, etc. This article will help you in doing so.ย

Conclusion

If you calculate how much time you'd need to set up the microcontroller with some sensor, put the code into and modify it, and all the related work just to explore our platform, it will surely take more than 5 minutes. This Demo requires less than that. Surely, it will not represent the broad spectrum you can make with our platform, but it is created to enable you to start own projects and to cover all stages within the development life cycle.
