Adding a Map from Map Builder to a Custom Report

Learn how to add a map created within Map Builder, into your Custom Report from within Map Explorer.

Adding custom-built map from Map Builder into a custom report within Map Explorer, is easier than ever!

Step 1: Access Map Explorer

  1. Open Map Explorer.

  2. Select your desired location.

  3. Choose to either create a brand new report or select an existing report to use as a template. For this guide, we will create a new report.

Step 2: Create a Report

  1. Click on Create New Report.

  2. You can add various reports from Map Explorer, such as personal reports, area reports, or mobility reports. These can be ordered according to your preference.

Step 3: Add a Map Widget

  1. To add a map, go to the Miscellaneous Widgets section.

  2. Here, you can add different elements such as text, images, and maps.

  3. Select Map and click Confirm. This action will place the map widget into your report.

  4. Exit the configuration window. By default, the map widget will display an aerial view of your selected location.

Step 4: Insert Your Custom Map

  1. Click on Edit Map within the map widget.

  2. Select Load Map.

  3. Choose the custom map that you have previously created in Map Builder.

  4. Your selected map will now be placed into the custom report.

Step 5: Edit Map Display

  1. You can further edit the display of your map within the report.

  2. Adjust zoom levels or switch to map view if necessary.

  3. Changes made here affect the appearance of the map in your report, such as its size relative to other widgets.

Step 6: Adjust Map Size

  1. The default size is set to medium, but you can change it to be larger or smaller as needed.

  2. To make more specific content changes, such as the location of the logo or other granular details, return to Map Builder and make the changes there.

  3. Save any changes in Map Builder to update your map in the custom report.

Step 7: Save and Download the Report

  1. After making the necessary edits, click Save Changes.

  2. Go to Download Report.

  3. Select your preferred format (landscape or portrait), page size, and other settings.

  4. Download the report as a PDF. Note that this PDF format differs from the image format available when downloading individual maps in Map Builder.
