🆕Unit Metrics: Display number of units per day alongside unit cost

This release introduces an enhancement to our Cost group feature, providing deeper and more contextual insights into your unit cost analysis. We've updated the chart tooltip to display not only the Cost per unit but also the total No. of units that contribute to your cloud costs.

What's New?

We've enriched the data tooltip that appears when you hover over your cost charts within a cost group. The key improvements are:

  • New "Unit Metrics" Section: To improve clarity, we have grouped unit-cost-related data under a new dedicated "Unit metrics" header in the tooltip.

  • "No. of units" Display: You can now see the total number of units for the selected time period. This metric provides the volume driver behind your costs, whether it's daily active users, API calls, transactions, or any other custom unit you have defined.

This gives you a more complete picture at a glance. For any given data point, you can now instantly correlate the total cost with its underlying drivers:

  • No. of units: The volume of activity.

  • Cost per unit: The efficiency or rate of that activity.

For example, in the tooltip:

Why It Matters

Previously, displaying only the Cost per unit provided a measure of cost-efficiency but lacked the context of scale. By adding the No. of units, you can now:

  • Improve Cost Analysis: More accurately diagnose cost fluctuations and make better-informed decisions for optimization.

  • Enhance Reporting: Clearly communicate the relationship between business metrics and cloud spend to stakeholders.

We believe this small but powerful addition will significantly improve your ability to analyze and manage your cloud costs effectively.
