What is the Alva career site?
The career page builder is a lightweight tool that lets you create a simple, branded career page hosted by Alva. It is designed for companies that want a straightforward place to present their employer brand and list open positions - without needing a full website builder or a separate ATS career site.
With the career page builder you can:
Upload a hero image to set the visual tone of your page
Add a content section with text to introduce your company, culture, or values
Automatically display your published jobs via the Job list widget below your content
The career page builder is available to users in Hiring System organisations who have the Manage organisation configuration permission. If you cannot see the builder, reach out to an administrator in your organisation to confirm your access.
How the career page and the Job list widget work together
The career page builder and the Job list widget are designed to give candidates a complete experience:
You build the page - upload a hero image and write a content section that tells candidates about your company.
Jobs appear automatically - the Job list widget is displayed below your content, showing all your published job positions created in the Hiring System. There is no need to configure the widget separately; it is included automatically on your career page.
Candidates browse and apply - candidates can view your jobs directly on the career page and click through to apply via Alva.
💡Note: If you also want to embed the job list on a separate external website (e.g. your company homepage), you can still configure and use the Job list widget independently.
Getting started
Step 1: Open the career page builder
Go to Organisation settings
in Alva.Select Career page builder from the menu.
You will see a split-screen view:
Left panel — configuration controls for editing your career page content
Right panel — a live preview that updates as you make changes
Step 2: Upload a hero image
In the left panel, find the Hero image section.
Click to upload an image file.
The image will appear at the top of your career page in the live preview.
Standard web image formats are supported (JPEG, PNG). Use a high-resolution image for the best result - the recommended size is 1216 × 256 px.
💡Note: Use a high-quality image that represents your company brand - for example, your office, team, or a branded graphic. The image will be displayed prominently at the top of the page.
Step 3: Add your content
Below the hero image settings, find the Content section.
Use the text editor to write a short introduction about your company.
Format your text using the built-in editor (headings, bold, lists, etc.).
This is your opportunity to tell candidates what makes your company a great place to work. Keep it concise and engaging - think about what a candidate would want to know before browsing your open roles.
Step 4: Preview and save
Review your changes in the live preview on the right side of the screen.
Click Save to publish your career page.
Use the URL shown in the preview window to open your career page directly.
Your career page URL follows this format: https://app.alvalabs.io/career-pages/<your-organisation-id>. Custom domain support is not available yet - your page is always hosted on Alva's domain.
You can return to the career page builder at any time to update your hero image or content. Changes are saved and published when you click Save.
Publishing a job to your career page
The career page is connected to the publishing step in the job creation flow. When you reach Step 4: Set up job ad & publish, select Publish with Alva to make your job visible on your career page.
If you have not yet set up a career page, a basic page with a URL will be created automatically when you publish your first job. You can then customise it at any time using the career page builder.
A job is displayed on your career page only if all of the following are true:
The job is created in the Hiring System
The job is published to the career page (toggled on in the publishing step of the job setup)
The job status is Open
The job is not marked as Internal
If a job you expect to see is missing from the career page, check that all four conditions are met.
💡Note: You can also list your job on the Alva Marketplace and copy the job ad to your ATS - these options are independent of the career page. See Set up Job Ad & Publish Job for details.
