What is Company Context?
Company Context is a settings page where you save key information about your organisation. Alva's AI - Architect - uses this information when generating content across the platform, ensuring that job descriptions, job ads, and candidate AI summaries sound like they come from your company.
You'll find it under Settings → Account → Company context.
💡Note: Editing Company Context requires the manage organization configuration permission. Most admin and head-of-HR roles have this by default. If you can't access Settings or Company Context, reach out to an admin in your organisation.
What's included in Company Context
The Company Context page contains a settings area and four content fields:
About the company - what your organisation does, its scale, certifications, and characteristics.
Company values - the principles and culture your team operates by.
Job ad context - tone-of-voice instructions specifically for AI-generated job ads.
Additional context - anything else relevant, such as benefits, hiring frameworks, or perks.
The settings area also includes your company website URL, career page URL, company size, industry, and an on/off toggle.
How the content is generated
Architect populates the About the company, Company values, and Job ad context fields automatically by:
Reading your company website and career page (configured under Settings → Account → Details or Settings → Account → Company Context).
Cleaning the scraped content using AI to remove boilerplate and noise.
Drafting initial content for each field.
Auto-generated content is tagged "Suggested by architect". You can:
Edit any field directly
Regenerate a field using the Regenerate button
Rewrite from scratch
The Additional context field is always empty by default - fill it in with anything you want Architect to know about your organisation.
💡Note: If your company website and career page URLs aren't configured, Architect can't fetch your context. You'll see a "We couldn't sync your Company Context" banner on the page.
If the generated content doesn't match your organisation, you can edit the fields directly or click Regenerate to create a fresh draft.
Where Company Context is used
The content you save flows into Alva's AI generation across multiple surfaces:
Job description generation - Architect references your About the company, Company values, and Additional context when drafting job descriptions, so the role description fits your organisation's tone and framing.
Job ad generation - in addition to the above, the Job ad context field shapes the voice and structure of generated ads.
Candidate AI summaries - summaries take your About the company, Company values, and Additional contextinto account when interpreting candidate results.
💡Note: Architect's suggestions are a starting point — not the final word. Review and refine the content based on your own knowledge of your organisation.
Step-by-step: Setting up Company Context
Go to Settings → Account → Company context.
Wait for Architect to auto-generate the About the company, Company values, and Job ad context fields.
Review each field and edit where needed - adjust tone, add missing details, or rewrite sections.
Fill in the Additional context field with any extra information (benefits, perks, hiring philosophy, etc.).
Toggle the feature on to activate Company Context across the platform.
