Case chronology: overview and navigation

Written by amaise Support

The case chronology shows you the documents and events of your case in chronological order — with AI-generated summaries for quick understanding.

Structure of the chronology

image

The case chronology presents a timeline with all relevant events:

  • Documents in chronological order — sorted by document date

  • Documents without a date — documents where no date was detected

  • Summaries — short AI-generated summaries of each document

  • Work impairment entries — periods of work incapacity (AUF)

Navigating the chronology

  • Scroll — scroll through the entire timeline to follow the case progress

  • Change sorting — sort entries ascending or descending by date

  • Jump to document — click an entry to open the document in the PDF reader

Timeline bar

The timeline bar at the top gives you a visual overview of the entire case period. You can use it to quickly navigate to a specific point in time. Use the timeline icon (mdi-chart-timeline) to show or hide the full timeline with documents and AUF entries.

Language of the summaries

You can adjust the language of the summaries:

  • Original language of the document — summary in the document’s language

  • Language of the case handler — automatically translated into your language

Downloading the chronology

Use the download function to export the case chronology. You have two options:

  • Copy to clipboard — copies the chronology directly to your clipboard

  • Download as DOCX — downloads the chronology as a Word document

Filters and sidebars

The case chronology offers the same sidebars as in the dossier review:

  • Dossiers — filter the chronology by dossier structure

  • Document types — show only specific document types

  • Labels — filter by manual labels

Additionally, you can open the CasePilot and Notebook panels right next to the case chronology to chat with the AI or edit notes in parallel.

Reviewing and editing sources

Each entry in the chronology links to the underlying document:

  1. Click an entry to select it and jump directly to the original document

  2. Use the Edit function to manually adjust entries

Work impairment (AUF) in the chronology

The case chronology also shows detected work incapacity periods directly in the timeline:

  • AUF entries — periods of work incapacity are displayed as separate entries in the timeline

  • Periods and degree — you see the period (from–to) and degree of work incapacity (e.g., 50%, 100%)

  • Merged entries — if multiple AUF entries cover the same period, they are merged and displayed together

You can click an AUF entry to navigate to the related document.

💡 For a detailed work incapacity overview with export function, open the AUF panel via the left sidebar.

Removing documents

If a document is not relevant, you can remove it from the case chronology. The document will be moved to the trash and can be restored from there.
