My sensors do not timeout

Problem Statement

My sensors are always on and never timeout. There hasn't been anyone in this location for several days, so why won't my sensor go down to 0%?

Common Causes

  • An HVAC system or fan is triggering the sensors

  • There was a human who walked by, that you didn't know was there

Less Common Causes

  • The uWave sensor sometimes sees through walls and detected a human in another room

  • The uWave sensor was triggered by running water in the pipes'

Solutions

1. Check the scenes! Do they all checkout as expected? Are all the devices in the actions and triggers? If not, use the custom scene capabilities to edit it. After you sync the changes, unlock and press the unoccupied scene to test.

  • If your issue is resolved, no need to read further!

  • If your issue is not resolved, move on to step 2.

2. Check the mode on the sensor or sensors in question. The expected mode is 2, if it's anything other than 2 please change it by using one of the following methods:

set -d deviceid -n mode -v 2

data -d deviceid -start 50 then write 2 in the editable box

  • If your issue is resolved, no need to read further!

  • If your issue is not resolved, move on to step 3.

3. Check the RF Atten for the sensors in question using the following command:

data -d deviceid -start 4 -f 7

You are expecting to see 12-14 for the sensors, if you see anything else then write 14 into the editable box. After you adjust this, you should begin to see your sensors timeout after their timeout session finishes. If the timeout is set to 15 minutes, then wait 15 minutes and check again.

  • If your issue is resolved, no need to read further!

  • If your issue is not resolved, move on to step 4.

4. Scenes are right, mode is set to 2, and the RF Atten is set to 12 or 14, but my sensors are still not timing out.
