Though Ambrook connects to bank accounts, sometimes a small number of transactions may be missing from the data. You are likely to notice this while reconciling an account. Additionally, you can choose to not connect an account at all and record all activity on the account manually. In either case Ambrook supports manually creating individual transactions
From the Ledger, select the "New" button and then "Transaction" to create an individual entry.
Next, enter the transaction details which include:
The account you will be recording to
The date you want the transaction to occur on
A description for the transaction
The tags you want on the transaction.
Optional - you can also upload a receipt to any transaction while creating it.
Once you are done, click the "Record" button to put the transaction on your Ledger.
How to edit a manual transaction
To edit the information on a transaction after you record it:
Click on the transaction
Click the pencil icons next to the date, description, or amount fields
Select "Update" when you're done editing the details.
Note: You cannot change the account a manual transaction was originally recorded on. If a manual transaction was recorded on the wrong account, you’ll need to:
Delete the existing transaction
Re-create the transaction on the correct account
If you have a large number of transactions that need to be moved to a different account, reach out to us at support@ambrook.com and our team can help!
You can do this for any kind of transaction, but one case where this is particularly useful is entering cash transactions.
