File Variants
File variants refer to the different formats & sizes created when new image or video files are uploaded. This guide will walk you through the process of finding and accessing file variants in PXM. If you need different or additional variant options, please reach out to your system admin or CSM.
Understanding File Variants:
Types of Variants: A single file in PXM can have multiple variants, including different file types (e.g., JPG, PNG, WebP) and sizes (e.g., large, medium, small).
To access file variants, start by searching for the desired file.
Click on the file to open the file details page.
Once on the file details page, look to the right for a dropdown section titled "Variants". Here, you'll find a list of available variants for the selected file.
Each variant is listed with its corresponding file type and size. You can click on the “Open Link” button to access the file directly, or you can copy and share the CDN link provided with the “Copy Link” button.
Viewing Video Variants:
Accessing Video Variants: After selecting a video file, navigate to the file details page by clicking on the file. Similar to image variants, look to the right hand side for the "Variants" dropdown to explore available video variants.
Types of Video Variants: Video variants only include the original file, a MP4 file and a JPEG image preview. You can click on the “Open Link” button to access the file directly, or you can copy and share the CDN link provided with the “Copy Link” button.
