The File Folder Tagging Import Template enables bulk tagging by associating files with specific collection folders, or by removing tags that already exist. This guide will walk you through the import template and process step by step.

Understanding the Import Template

The template consists of four key columns, with the first three being required:

  1. Import Type (Required) - Specifies the action to be taken. Options include:

    • Add – Assigns the file to a collection folder.

    • Remove – Removes the file from a collection folder.

  2. Collection Folder (Required) – Defines the folder to which the file should be added or from which it should be removed.

  3. File Name (Required) – Lists the exact filename of the asset being modified.

  4. Primary Display Image (Optional) – Marking True in this column designates an image as the primary display image for a product.

Note that both the Collection Folders and files have to be created in PXM in order for this import to work correctly.

Preparing Your Import File

  1. Ensure your file includes at least the three required columns: Import Type, Collection Folder, and File Name.

  2. If needed, designate primary display images by marking True in the corresponding column.

  3. Save your file in CSV or Excel format.

Executing the Import

  1. Prepare Your File: Ensure your file includes at leas the three required columns and save in CSV or Excel format.

  2. Access the Import Feature: Navigate to your PXM instance, then click the Upload/Import button in the bottom right corner of the screen.

  3. Select Import Type: Choose Data Import, then Folder Tagging from the import options.

  4. Upload and Validate the File: Drag and drop or select your prepared file, then review the column mapping and any errors (if applicable).

  5. Run the Import: When your import is clean and everything looks right, click Import to begin processing.
