How to troubleshoot Smartcard login issues

This guide helps user troubleshoot issues when logging in using NHS Smart card

Smartcard issues are often related to the device you're using and can be finicky with the initial smartcard connection. If you're having issues logging in with your smartcard or you're seeing an error message "Login Error 504". Here are some troubleshooting steps that can potentially help resolve the issue.

If you're having issues linking your smartcard for the first time:

  1. Visit clinics.animahealth.com and login with your email and password.

  2. Then navigate to Settings > User Settings and try to link your Smartcard.

  3. If the problem persists, please try on a different device if possible.

If you're having issue logging in with your smartcard:

  1. Login using your email and password, the unlink your Smartcard and relink again. If you're unable to login manually, contact support to reset your account.

  2. If the problem persists, please try on a different device if possible.

If you're still unable to link or login using your smartcard on a different device, where other colleagues are able to. Please contact NHS IT and they should be able to help you resolve this.
