"My Pet Tracking" Feature

How Does the "My Pet Tracking" Feature Work? ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿพ

Updated over a year ago

The "My Pet Tracking" feature in the app is based on data collected each time a QR Tag Animal ID is scanned. Important: This is not GPS and does not provide real-time tracking of your petโ€™s location. Instead, every time the QR tag is scanned, the system records the location and time of the scan. This offers several advantages:

  • No Need for Charging:
    โ€‹
The QR tag does not require a battery, so it is always ready for use. ๐Ÿ”‹๐Ÿšซ

    โ€‹

  • No SIM Card Required:
    โ€‹
The tag does not use mobile connectivity, making it simple and cost-effective to operate. ๐Ÿ“ถโŒ

  • Low Operating Costs:
    โ€‹
There are no additional expenses associated with maintenance, unlike GPS devices.

  • Scan History:
    โ€‹
Each time the QR tag is scanned, the location (if permitted by the scanner) and the time of the scan are recorded and stored in the appโ€™s "Scan History" section. This allows you to review where and when your pet was scanned.

How It Works:

  1. Scanning:
    โ€‹
When someone scans the QR tag using a smartphone, the system automatically reads the QR code, which contains a link to the petโ€™s online profile.
    โ€‹
    โ€‹

  2. Recording Information:
    โ€‹
After scanning, the system records the scanโ€™s location (if available) and the time in the database. This history is stored in the app for later review.

    โ€‹

  3. Displaying the Data:
    โ€‹
You can access the scan history to see the recorded locations and times, which helps quickly determine where your pet might have been found.

Thus, the "My Pet Tracking" feature is a convenient and reliable method for gathering scan history data from your QR tag. Although it does not offer real-time tracking like GPS, it provides valuable information that can help you quickly locate your pet if it goes missingโ€”all without the need for expensive and complex GPS devices.
