Doly has three different modes that can produce different results
Quick 180
Full 180
Full 360
Quick 180
This is the fastest mode, but definitely not the one that will produce the best results.
In that mode, you have to fill two rows of photos in the capture.
This is a mode we created to onboard users on the app but it doesn't deliver the best quality in both Dolies or 3D modes. If you only need to capture your object on one side, we recommend the Full 180 which will deliver better results and offer you more template options.
This mode can prove useful for several reasons :
your object is big and can't be raised from the ground easily (ie a chair) -> for these captures, the full 180 mode will be tricky
you only have a few seconds to capture something
Full 180
This mode is a bit more demanding than Quick 180, but outputs better results, especially with lower angles, necessary to capture "hero shots" of your product. This is a mode you want to use if you only want to capture one side of the object, contrary to the 360 mode where you will do a full 360 around the object entirely.
This mode simply adds a third layer of photos to fill-in. Prepare to duck to reach those pictures, but they are quite important as they tend to provide the most heroic views of the object.
Because that last line can be hard to capture, we recommend to elevate the support in order to reach it.
The Full 180 mode will enable you to activate cinematographic templates like this one, where the object is seen at a low angle.
Full 360
This is the most powerful capture mode and the one that will bring the most powerful template options.
This mode requires you to turn around your product entirely and will ask you for 4 rows of photos. We recommend elevating the object and keeping the ability to move around.
This mode offers the most creative options in terms of templates, as you will have access to all the templates offered in the app.
You will be able to create low angle shots of your object like this one.
