*Please note: DO NOT submerge or rinse the electronic head (including the main body and LED display) in water at any point during cleaning.

Cleaning Methods:

There are several different ways to clean your cooker, but here are the top three. Cleaning is relatively simple and straightforward so choose whatever is easiest for you or best addresses your cleaning desires.

  1. Cleaning the stainless steel skirt and end cap separately in dishwasher or sink (disassembly required)

  2. Vinegar bath (no disassembly necessary) P.S. this is a great option if you don't want to take apart your cooker or are having build up issues.

  3. Cleaning the circulator, impeller, heating coil, pump shaft, and sensors (disassembly required)

  4. Cleaning the LED display (no disassembly required)

1. To clean the stainless steel skirt:

  1. To begin, follow these simple disassembly instructions to remove steel skirt and end cap.

  2. After removing the stainless steel skirt and clear end cap, you can pop them right into the dishwasher – both are dishwasher safe! You can also wash them in the sink with dish soap.

2. To clean using vinegar bath:

  1. Simply dilute equal parts water and white vinegar into a small pot.

  2. Put your Anova Precision Cooker in the water-vinegar combo

  3. Set the temperature to 140 °F / 60 °C, and allow the device to heat the liquid. When the device has reached that temperature, the cleaning is complete

  4. This method is best if you have build up on your device. Build up is normal and is due to mineral deposits mostly from tap water. Build up can be brown, black or even green depending on your water pipes and water source (if you drill your own well or use a water utility)

3. To clean the circulator, impeller, heating coil, pump shaft, and sensors:

  1. When cleaning these parts of the device do not put the electronic head of the unit near or under water. Use care when cleaning the circulator, impeller, heating coil, pump shaft, and sensors, we recommend using a damp cloth or toothbrush.

  2. Use a mild cleaner like dish soap and a soft toothbrush, and rinse using a damp cloth.

* When cleaning the unit make sure you do not bend the impeller shaft. If you do it may rub against the steel skirt after you reassemble it.

4. To clean the LED display:

  1. Simply dampen a microfiber cloth.

  2. Wipe display gently to get off any smudges, marks or food residue.

  3. Dry gently with a microfiber cloth.
