Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) or Bluetooth 4.0 is how the Anova Precision Cooker connects with your phone or mobile device of choice. You will need Bluetooth even if you have a WI-FI Precision Cooker, as it is necessary for the initial connection process.

Your device needs a Bluetooth radio to communicate with the Anova Precision Cooker. Any earlier iterations of Bluetooth (3.0, 2.0 etc) lack the necessary protocols to work with the Precision Cooker, as they are incompatible with our firmware.

If you are wondering if your phone or device has Bluetooth LE or Bluetooth 4.0, here is the list of iOS devices that have Bluetooth 4.0, and therefore will connect with your Anova Precision Cooker.
