Introduction
In an experiment, the report view displays the entities (workflows, simulations, executions and data) in the experiment in a handy list to which you can add explanatory text and section headings for easier navigation. This is useful if you want to record the purpose of a specific activity, and makes it easier for you to access the entities in the experiment.
When you open an experiment from the Experiments list, Synthace displays the report view. The following image displays the report view of an new, empty experiment.
Use the report view to add entities to the experiment, along with headings for organization and text for annotations. You can create new entities here, or add them from a list of existing entities.
The following image displays an example of a header and some text to describe the purpose of the experiment.
Blocks
Everything in an experiment exists inside a container called a block. After you add a block to an experiment, you can use the handle on its left to move it around. Heading blocks create a quick menu on the left. Use it to navigate longer experiments: click a header to jump straight to it.
To add more blocks after the first, hover over any block to show the + button, then click it to add another block.
The following image displays an example of an experiment that contains several simulations and executions.

Viewing mode and editing mode
If you navigate back to an experiment after you create it, it will default to viewing mode. You cannot add entities in viewing mode. This prevents accidental changes. If you want to change an experiment, use the selector at the top of the page to switch to editing mode.
Tip: In editing mode, any user can edit any user’s experiments.
