How to upgrade

You'll need to update to the latest version of the app to upgrade

  • Head to the Home tab in the latest version of the app

  • Tap the activation banner and accept the new card terms

  • Help us confirm your identity – you’ll need to take a picture of your ID and a short selfie video. We compare this video with your ID, which helps us confirm you're really you.

  • That's it! Once verified, create your new virtual card instantly to get paid and spend. If you have a balance on your old card, you’ll have the option to transfer it.

Why do I need to verify your identify?

You'll need to verify your identity to confirm ownership and ensure the protection of your funds. There’s no credit check or SIN number required for Canadian only residents. As always, we will not report any earnings to the CRA.

Can I get a physical card?

Yes. Once your virtual card is activated, go to the Card section in the app to request a physical card. It’ll arrive by mail in 7–10 business days. It will replace your virtual card when you activate it.

What happens if I don't upgrade?

You won’t be able to receive new payments until you activate the new virtual card.
