Often you will receive a large documents file from applicants that need to be split into individual documents; or a bunch of individual documents you would like to combine into one. Loanapp has some functionality that allows you to split or combine documents that you have uploaded.

Note that only PDF files can be used with this split and combine functionality.

Split Documents

Upload your documents file so that it is in the "documents bucket" in Supporting Documents. You are then able to drag the document that you want to split into smaller documents into the "Split or Combine" bucket:

You will have a new pane open that will display to you the thumbnail images of all the individual pages of the larger document:

To expand your interface so that you are only looking at this pane, click the 'expand' icon on the pane:

Giving you better visibility of the document you want to work with:

You will find that you can hover on each thumbnail image to get a better look at each page:

Create new individual documents:

To split the document into new individual documents,

  1. click on the pages you wish to split into a new file,

  2. Add a new title for the new document,

  3. and click create:

The selected pages will be removed from the existing file, and create a new file in the supporting documents Bucket. You can continue breaking up the larger document, which you will see getting smaller. When you are ready to go back to the full supporting documents pane, click default view to expand all the panes again:

And you will find your newly created documents at the bottom of your documents bucket pane, ready for allocating across to the checklist:

Note that once you put a document in the "Split and Combine" bucket, any pages you dont do anything to will remain in this bucket. If you want to clear the bucket, click the "clear" button (this will refresh the section):

Note that even if split up your original document and create new documents, you will still have the original document in your documents bucket if you want to go back to the original document.

Combining Documents

To combine documents, you select documents in the Bucket you wish to combine, and drag to "Split or Combine":

You can then select the pages you want to combine, rename the documents and combine them into a new document:

Your new combined document will be in the Documents Bucket
