How to change the menu structures in your Portal

Updated over 8 months ago

It's possible to modify the links in the navigation and footer menus. You can point these to a specific Apiable content management system page or use an external link.

You can find the navigation menu in the sidebar.

In the Sidebar, click Navigation.

Adding and Removing Links

Click the + Add New button below the table to add a new link.

You will be prompted to enter a name for your new link. This is the name that will be displayed in the application.

Using an external link or selecting an existing page from the Apiable Content Management System is possible.

Use External Link

Toggle the Use External Link button and enter a valid URL in the Link field.

When a user clicks this link on your Portal, it will open in a new browser tab.

Click on the Save button.

Use Apiable Page

Select the checkbox next to the page you would like the user to navigate to and click on the Save button.

Removing Links

Click on the ellipsis to the far right of the item you wish to delete. Click on Delete to remove this record.

Note: Not all navigation links may be deleted. Some are protected. These are:

My Subscriptions, Teams, Products, and Full API Reference.

Changing the Order

To change the order of the navigation items, grab and drag the item to the desired point and let go. Click on the Save Order button to save the order.

Changing the visibility of the links

If you want to make the only visible when logged in or publicly visible, navigate to the page you would like to adjust via Pages in the sidebar menu and click on the page name link. This will take you into the detail of this page.

Click on the submenu item Settings.

Here you can toggle the page to be:

  • True - Page will be publicly visible.

  • False - Page will only be visible when logged in.

Note: The Teams and My Subscriptions pages will only display when logged in.

It's not possible to hide the Products page. This page must always be visible.

Making Full API Reference Private

To make the Full API Reference private, navigate to Customization in the sidebar and select Full API Documentation.

Here you may toggle between the documentation being Publicly Accessible and Private.
