How to use Product Categories in your API Portal

Product Categories are used to categorize your API Products to make it easier for your API Consumers to find them.

Create a new Product Category

Navigate to Product Categories in the sidebar and click the + Add Product Category button.

Enter a name for your Product Category and save changes.

Associating Product Categories with Products

Navigate to the product you wish to associate your new Product Category with. On the Details page, click on the Product Category field and select the appropriate category or categories for this product.

Note: It is also possible to create a new Product Category by clicking on + Add Product Category in the drop-down list.

Removing a Product Category from a Product

For the Product Category you wish to remove, click on the x next to the category name. This will not delete the Product Category but it will remove the association to this Product.

Deleting a Product Category

Navigate to Product Categories in the sidebar, and for the Product Category you wish to delete, click on the ellipsis to open the row menu. Within the menu, click on delete to delete this Product Category.

Filtering by Product Category in the API Portal

Your customers will now see a list of Product Categories on the API Portal under the Products menu. Selecting a Product Category will filter the products only to show products in the selected category.
