Understanding Consumers in Apideck

Updated over a week ago

In Apideck, a consumer represents an account or user in your system. All connections to connectors are scoped to a consumer. Consumers are essential for managing and organizing the connections and integrations for individual users or accounts within your application.

When you create a consumer, you assign a unique consumer identifier (consumer_id) that usually represents a user or account in your system. This identifier helps Apideck manage and associate connections, credentials, and API requests for that specific consumer.

For more information on consumers and how to create, update, or delete them, you can refer to the Apideck Vault API documentation: https://developers.apideck.com/apis/vault/reference
