The App Store Performance feature measures your appˈs performance in terms of Store Views, Installs, and Sales. Additionally, the feature shows the conversion rates between metrics.

For Google Play you can see your App Store Performance by Sources, Countries, or Installs per Keyword. You can also select the date range.

Sources

Overview

When you are in the Sources view, you can see which channel is the most successful for finding and downloading your app. This way you see which channel is the most profitable and which conversion rates are the best or need improvement.

The Source view provides the following information:

  • App Store Search: Users who found the app by searching for specific keywords within Google Play.

  • App Store Browse: Users who found the app while browsing the Featured, Categories, and Top Charts sections.

  • Third-Party Referrers: Users who found your app on another website.

The Metrics Table

All the views have a metrics table with Store Views, Installs, In-App Sales, and Revenue as well as the Conversion Rates (CVR) between each step. This makes it easy for you to track the metrics all the way throughout the user journey.

  • Chart: Toggle to visualize the information in the chart

  • Store Views: How often your appˈs product page/ app store listing was viewed by one single person.

  • Installs: How many users downloaded the app for the first time.

  • In-App Sales: The number of in-app purchases.

  • Revenue: how much money you earned from the sales in the selected time frame.

  • Details: Detailed view of your conversion rate broken down per day in the selected date range.

  • CVR: there are three types of conversion rates presented in the table
    → From store views to installs - the percentage of app store listing visitors that downloaded your app.
    → From installs to in-app sales - the percentage of people who downloaded your app and spent money on it.

Actions that you can take on the table:

  1. You are able to filter the channels by using the "Search type;"

  2. You can click on "Filters" to hide Conversion Rates from the table;

  3. Toggle the buttons in the chart column to select which sources you would like to visualize in the chart;

In the example below, we selected two Sources to visualize in the chart:

4. Compare Sources

You are able to compare sources by checking the boxes next to them, then pressing the "Compare # Soucers" button. Then, you'll be shown a visual chart that allows you to easily compare an app conversion rate across your selected traffic sources.

To change which conversion rate is showing in the chart, use the selection buttons above the chart. Hover over the chart to view the selected app conversion rate for each of the traffic sources. Toggle a traffic source on or off in the visual chart by clicking on the respective colors below the chart.

5. Conversion Rate Details

By clicking on "Details," you can have a detailed view of your Conversion Rates broken down by day.

Hoove over the chart to get detailed information for a day. You are also able to export the detailed CVR view on a CSV file. You can also toggle a traffic source on or off in the visual chart by clicking on the respective colors below the chart.

You can change the date range, and also the Source that you would like to see daily broken down information. You can choose between the Sources you see in the list below.

Countries

When you are in the Countries view, you can see a list of all countries with the same metrics table explained above. This makes it easy for you to determine which countries are performing the best in terms of Store Views, Installs, In-App Sales, and Revenue.

  2. You can click on "Filters" to hide Conversion Rates from the table;

  3. Toggle the buttons in the chart column to select which countries you would like to see in the chart;

Installs per Keyword

When you are in the Installs per Keyword view, you can see which keywords generated Store Views, Downloads, or Sales. This way you can discover your most valuable keywords for a specific month.

The Metrics Table

  • Store views: how often your appˈs product page was viewed by a unique user. In Google Play Console this is called Store Visits.

  • Downloads: how many unique users downloaded the app for the first time. In Google Play Console this is called Installs.

  • Sales: For paid apps, this is the number of app sales. For free apps, this is the number of in-app purchases, in Google Play Console these are the New Buyers.

  • CVR: there are two types of conversion rates presented in the table

                      → from store views to downloads

                      → from installs to sales

You can copy all the keywords to your clipboard.

Date Range

You can select a date range by clicking the dropdown menu next to the dates (e. g. yesterday, last 7 days, last 30 days, or you can select a custom range). For "Installs per Keyword," you can only select the month you would like to analyze.

Information Order

You can rearrange the information order in all charts, by clicking on the metrics you would like to focus on.

In the example below, I clicked on CVR until I saw the arrow down, which means I see the keyword with high conversion rates first. On the second image, the order is based on Store Views, starting with my strongest keyword on top.

You can do the same for all the Source and Country tables.
