Something very particular about App Store Connect is the relationship between app store listing updates and versions. The important thing is that if you want to make changes in your app store listing, you need to create a new version.

What happens when I create a new app version in App Radar?

As soon as you create a new version directly in App Radar, it will automatically create a new version in App Store Connect. There are no rules for the version number. It is up to you how you want to identify each version.

As soon as you finish making changes in your app store listing inside App Radar, you need to press “Export to App Store Connect.” The next step is to login to App Store Connect and submit the latest version to review, which is the one you were making changes in App Radar.

What happens when I create a new version in App Store Connect?

As soon as you login to App Radar, you can import your latest version from App Store Connect to App Radar, and update it in our tool. All the changes saved in App Store Connect will be imported to App Radar. When you are done in App Radar, you will export the changes to App Store Connect and follow the same steps mentioned above. You can manage this in the Import & Export from the Optimize Store Listing menu.

Just be aware that when you import the new version to App Radar, all the information that you currently have in App Radar will be overwritten with what you have in App Store Connect.

The status of your version in App Store Connect:

  • Prepare for Submission - you can still make changes in App Radar.

  • Waiting for Review - you can’t make changes in App Radar, but you can login to App Store Connect and change the status back to “Prepare for Submission.” This way, you can still make changes in this version in App Radar and/or App Store Connect.

  • In Review - you can’t make any changes.

  • Ready for Sales - your version is live, and now, you can create a new version to make further changes.

As soon as you press “Submit to Review,” and your app version status changes to “In Review,” you will have to wait until it is "Ready for Sales" or "Rejected" to make new changes.

In addition to that, independently of which field you would like to change, you will always need Release Notes when submitting a new app version.

How do I know if I can still make changes in my app version in App Radar?

When your app is “Ready for Sale,” you will get a message in App Radar saying that you need to create a new version. If Apple rejects your app version, you will see an error message in App Radar.
