Common scenarios to manage user and app settings for HockeyApp users

Apps that are migrated from HockeyApp can only be managed in the HockeyApp portal and not in App Center. 

In App Center, if you open the settings page of a HockeyApp app, you will be prompted to edit your app settings in HockeyApp. 


I'd like to transfer my personal app into an organization:

  1. Create an organization in HockeyApp or select an exisitng organization

  2. Transfer your app to the chosen organization in HockeyApp

  3. Log into App Center and observe the app now belongs in the organization


I'd like to add owners to my App Center account:

In HockeyApp, business plan users can add multiple account owners to the organization's account.  In App Center, the same concept is supported by organizations. You can create an organization and invite admins to manage all users and apps in the org.

  1. Create an organization in HockeyApp or select an exisitng organization

  2. Migrate all apps and invite all users to the chosen organization in HockeyApp

  3. Log into App Center and observe HockeyApp owners are now App Center organization managers with the same permissions.


I'd like to add users to my migrated apps:

  1. Select your app in HockeyApp

  2. Add user's email address and select their role

  3. Observe the user's permission in App Center:

    - HockeyApp developer = App Center developer
    -
    HockeyApp member = App Center viewer
    -
    HockeyApp tester = App Center tester (note: these testers will not see the app in the App Center portal. They should go to install.appcenter.ms to see the app they are testing)
