How to Backup and Recover Your Aptoide Wallet

Learn how wallet backup works before sign in and how to recover your Aptoide Wallet via email after signing in.

Access to your Aptoide Wallet can be protected in two different ways, depending on whether you have already signed in or not.

⚠️ Important: The wallet backup option is only available before signing in. Once you sign in, wallet recovery will always be done via email, and the backup option will no longer be available.

Before Sign In: Backing Up Your Wallet (Recommended)

Before signing in, you have the option to create a wallet backup (Keystore file).
We strongly recommend doing this whenever possible, as it provides an extra layer of security.

Here are the steps for that:

  1. Open the Aptoide Wallet app.

  2. Access your Wallet's Settings.

After Sign In: Wallet Recovery via Email

If you have already signed in to your Aptoide Wallet, the backup option is no longer available.

From this point on, your wallet can always be recovered by signing in with your email address.
As long as you still have access to that email account, you will be able to restore your wallet.

This means:

  • No backup file is required after sign in

  • Email access becomes essential for wallet recovery

Final Recommendation

For maximum security, we recommend:

  • Creating a wallet backup before signing in, when available

  • Completing the sign in process to enable email-based wallet recovery
