Setting Up Delivery Areas

Configure delivery areas, including setting pricing, minimum order amounts, delivery times, and managing external delivery providers. Customize your delivery zones using circles, polygons, or multiple overlapping areas.

Adding a Delivery Area

To create a delivery area, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Configure > Location, then select the desired location.

  2. Click +New Area.

Fields to Configure

  1. Area Name

    • Assign a unique name to your delivery area.

  2. Delivery Price

    • Specify the price added to the order for delivery.

  3. Advanced Delivery Price

    • Enable advanced pricing by selecting the option near the Delivery Price field.

    • Configure price ranges based on the order’s subtotal and assign a delivery price for each range.

      • Example:

        • Initial delivery price: $6.99

        • Subtotal $10-$50: $4.99

        • Subtotal $50-$100: $2.50

  4. Minimum Order Amount

    • Set the minimum subtotal required to place a delivery order.

  5. Free Delivery Order Amount

    • Define the subtotal required for free delivery (e.g., orders over $100).

  6. Delivery Time Duration (in minutes)

    • Set the maximum time (in minutes) from order placement to delivery.

    • This time is displayed to the customer as the sum of the delivery time and prep time.

      • Example: 35-minute delivery time + 25-minute prep time = 60 minutes shown to the customer.

  7. Circle Area Radius

    • Specify the delivery radius (in miles or kilometers).

    • Use the "Draw a Circle" tool to estimate and refine the radius.

      Custom Shapes

      • Click the Draw a Shape button to define a custom delivery area.

      • Select points on the map to outline your desired area.

  8. Delivery Hours

    • Click +Add More Hours to define delivery hours for each day of the week.

  9. Enable Delivery Area

  • Check the box next to your new delivery area to activate it.

10. Disabling Delivery Areas

  • Uncheck the box next to a delivery area’s name to disable it.

External Delivery Providers

You can assign delivery providers at both the location and delivery area levels.

By Location Level

  1. Select a provider from the list.

  2. Add a delay (for immediate orders only).

By Delivery Area Level

  1. Override the location settings for specific areas to assign in-house or alternative delivery providers.

  • Choose the empty option in the provider's list to disable external deliveries.

Polygon and Multiple Delivery Areas

Polygon Setup

  • Use the polygon tool to draw and configure non-circular delivery zones.

Multiple Delivery Areas

  • Add multiple delivery areas with unique pricing and parameters.

  • If areas overlap, the system will charge customers the lowest delivery fee that meets the criteria.
