Apploi now offers the ability to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users. MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring more than just your password to log in. It helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if someone gets hold of your password. This article explains how to set up and use MFA for your Apploi account.

How to Set Up MFA on Your Account

  1. Contact your Customer Success Manager or Apploi Customer Support

    • The Apploi team can assist in enabling MFA for your account. Note that all users of your account will be required to set up MFA if this feature is enabled.

  2. Choose Your Authentication Method

    • Once MFA is enabled, you’ll be prompted to select a method for receiving the second factor the next time you login to Apploi. These options include:

      • Authenticator App (like Google Authenticator or Authy)

      • SMS Text Message (a code sent to your phone)

Choose your preferred method and follow the on-screen instructions to link your chosen method to your account.

  3. Verify Your MFA Method

    • After setting up the method, you will be asked to verify it:

      • SMS: you will receive a one-time code via text message to enter:

      • Authenticator App: scan the QR code that appears with the Authenticator App you are using to link it to your account:

      • Once set up with the Authenticator app, you'll be prompted to enter the 6 digit code provided, directly on the Apploi screen login page:

How to Use MFA When Logging In

Once MFA is enabled, here’s how the login process will work:

  1. Enter Your Email Address and Password

    • First, you’ll enter your usual login credentials (email and password).

  2. Enter the Second Factor

    • After entering your password, you’ll be prompted for the second factor of authentication:

      • Authenticator App: Open your authenticator app, find the code for your account, and enter it on the login page.

      • SMS/Text: Enter the code sent to your phone via SMS.

  3. Access Granted

    • Once you’ve successfully entered both your password and the second factor, you’ll be logged into your account.
