This guide explains how to set up a Shipping Discount, which allows you to apply fixed-amount, percentage-based, or tiered shipping discounts to specific or all products.
🧩 What is a Shipping Discount?
A Shipping Discount allows you to apply fixed-amount, percentage-based, or tiered discounts to the shipping price for specific or all products.
⚙️ How Does It Work?
The discount can apply to any product in the cart, or only when selected products or variants are in the cart.
You can choose between a Percent, Fixed, or Tiered shipping discount.
The discount can be limited by country, purchase type, minimum purchase requirements, and customer tags.
🛠️ Step 1: Create the Offer
Go to Bundles & Discounts on the Appstle Bundles dashboard and click Create Offer.
🧱 Step 2: Select the Shipping Discount
Select the Shipping Discount.
🖥️ Step 3: Enable the App Block
Before setting up the shipping discount, make sure the App block is enabled on your storefront:
Go to your product page and add the app block.
After adding, save your changes.
Once saved, you can close the page. If enabled correctly, it will also reflect on the app page.
📝 Step 4: Create Your Shipping Discount
Enter an Internal Name to identify the offer for internal use (not visible to customers)
Add a Bundle Title that customers will see as the main offer heading
Set a Checkout Discount Name that will appear in cart and checkout (if left blank, the bundle title will be used)
Select Products Eligible for Discount:
All Products: apply the discount across the entire store
Specific Products/Variants: apply the discount only to selected items
Configure Customer Usage Limit:
Set how many times a customer can use this discount
Helps control repeat usage of the offer
Works mainly for logged-in customers due to tracking limitations
🌍📅Step 5: Active Dates & Country Availability
Set Active Dates to control when the offer becomes live
Choose a Start Date and Start Time for when the discount should begin
Optionally enable Set End Date to automatically stop the offer after a specific period
Configure Countries to control where the offer is available
Choose All Countries to make the offer available worldwide
Or select Selected Countries to restrict the offer to specific regions
🧾Step 6: Purchase Requirements & Discount Stacking
Set Purchase Requirements to control eligibility conditions for the discount
Choose one of the following options:
No Minimum Requirements: no restriction on purchase
Minimum Purchase Amount (USD): requires a minimum cart value
Minimum Quantity of Items: requires a minimum number of items in the cart
Configure Discount Stacking rules to control how this offer works with other discounts
Enable or disable stacking with:
Product discounts (e.g., item-level promo codes like “10% off”)
Order discounts (e.g., coupon codes like “SAVE15”)
🏷️Step 7: Display, Tagging & Announcement Settings
Configure Display & Tagging rules to control who can see and purchase this offer
Set Customer Tag Access to show the offer only to customers with specific tags
Restrict or allow visibility using customer tags (e.g., Gold customers, Silver customers)
Add Shopify Order Tags to automatically tag orders that include this shipping offer for tracking and reporting
Configure the Announcement Bar to show shipping discount progress messages on the storefront
Set Free Shipping Unlocked Message shown when customers qualify for free shipping
Set Percentage Discount Message shown when a percentage-based shipping discount is unlocked
Set Fixed Amount Message shown when a fixed shipping discount is unlocked
Set Quantity Progress Message to show remaining items needed to unlock shipping benefits
Set the Amount Progress Message to show the remaining spend required to unlock the shipping discount
🚚Step 8: Set Shipping Discount Type & Value
Choose the Discount Type for shipping:
Percent Discount: apply a percentage discount on the shipping cost
Fixed Discount: apply a fixed amount discount on shipping
Tiered Discount: apply shipping discount based on conditions
Enter the Discount Value (percentage or fixed amount depending on selection)
Save the settings to activate the shipping discount rules
