What is POS in Subscriptions?
POS (Point of Sale) for subscriptions allows merchants to create and manage subscription orders in-store using the Shopify POS app.
Instead of selling only one‑time purchases at a physical location, staff can enrol customers into recurring subscriptions directly from the POS.

📋 Prerequisites (Before You Start)
Before creating subscriptions on Shopify POS, make sure the following requirements are met:
Product is published to Point of Sale
A subscription plan is created in Appstle
Please refer to this detailed documentation to learn how to create your subscription plan
Shopify POS app is installed on a mobile device
Shopify-supported subscription payment gateway must be enabled.
Shopify is currently supporting "Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Paypal Express, Stripe, Authorize.net, and Adyen" as payment gateways for subscriptions. Also, reference this doc to learn about Shopify Subscription API limitations:

🔐 Step 1: Log in to Shopify POS
Open the Shopify POS app
Sign in using your email and select the store
Set your PIN to access the app
🧩 Step 2: Add Appstle Subscriptions to the POS Smart Grid
By default, Appstle Subscriptions is not visible in POS.
Open Shopify POS → Settings
Go to POS apps
Select Appstle Subscriptions
Tap Add to Smart Grid
⏳ Please wait a few minutes for the POS to sync with your store.
Once synced, Appstle Subscriptions will appear as a tile on the POS home screen.
🛒 Step 3: Create a Subscription Order in Shopify POS
Select or add a customer
Add a subscription-enabled product to the cart
On the Smart Grid, tap Appstle Subscriptions
Choose the subscription frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.)
⚠️ Important Cart Options
When you tap a product in the cart, you will see these options:
🏬 Fulfill First Order in Store, Ship the Rest
The first order is given to the customer in the store (physical offline store).
All future subscription orders are shipped to the customer’s address
📦 Ship All Orders
All subscription orders are shipped to the customer’s address
💳 Step 4: Complete Checkout (Important Payment Rules)
✅ Shopify Payments must be enabled
❌ Mark as unpaid will fail checkout, and no subscription will be created
❌ Shopify does not support cash payments for subscriptions Pos.
